This season is unpredictable because of the continued presence of COVID-19 and we are working our way back to the “Old Normal” by following the “New Normal” until Health Dept. restrictions are loosened then eventually relaxed again at The Rink.
We have begun our Pre-Season for Adult Hockey and sanctioned Youth events such as SAHA (Traveling Hockey) and Hockey Camps, along with Figure Skating Club practices, at all times following the WY State Health Dept. protocols and recommendations for approved activities.
We have started to sell our Rink Memberships at the Rink, for all those that want to start playing some Drop-in Hockey and attend Stick & Puck. The memberships are a great deal at $175 for the 2020-21 season. Anyone 18 years and over is invited to get a Membership to save paying $10 for Drop-in and $5 for Stick & Puck - at over 30 weeks to our season, you can see that it’s an unbelievable deal….
As we get Rink Memberships sold, we will start posting Drop-in and Stick & Puck times in the Weekly
Schedule on the Website at http://www.sheridanice.org/ and on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WhitneyRinkMMsCenter
In order to participate in Rink activities, skaters will be required to social distance and asked to wear a cloth mask (not on the ice). The Rink will sanitize at appropriate times to keep up with CDC guidelines but ultimately the decision to enter the facility is your choice, so please reconsider if you feel you might be a/at risk.
At this time the following activities and programs will be on hold or limited, until they can safely move forward:
Open Skate – On Hold
Party Room rentals – On Hold
Learn to Skate and Learn to Play (Mini Mites) – On Hold
Rental skates – On Hold
Limited Rink programs that require less close contact instruction
Limited skate sharpening and concessions
No groups over 30 on the ice and 50 in the building at one time except during special sanctioned events
Adult Hockey will be moving forward and Youth Programs such as Mites and House League will be limited to last season’s players and if there is room left, new players will be able to register until the limited spots are filled. Click here to download your registration form http://www.sheridanice.org/forms/
Programs that are On Hold are currently planned to start in January but activities like Open Skate will look much different this season with less skaters allowed on the ice and the use of personal skates encouraged. We hope to see Open Skate a part of the Rink again, before Christmas which is the time many families look forward to all year.
The Junior Hockey season has begun and attendance restrictions have been put in place by the WY Health Department, allowing the Rink to be at half capacity for all Hawks games until further notice. Hopefully the crowd capacity will be allowed to increase over time.
We understand that not all the news this year has been positive from the Rink and we are still waiting, like many others, to hear how things will play out in regards to the virus. Moving forward in a safe way for our coaches, instructors, skaters and spectators, is our main concern at this point and in the future.
Thanks for your understanding.
